Absolute Essentials of Machine Sewing
This Monday evening workshop introduces you to the anatomy of the sewing machine and how to get started including, bobbin winding, threading, stitch selection and sewing seams. If you've never used a sewing machine or if you simply need a refresher, this class will build your confidence using a machine.
As the first class progresses your new knowledge will be put to practice with a simple seaming sampler, beginning your understanding of seams and their properties. The following class we revisit the basics of threading up then dive into stitching up some handy cotton bags, this second class is about confirmation of your capability on the machine and builds confidence to take on more stitching projects.
This beginner sewing class is two x 2 hour sessions held over two weeks. You are welcome to bring along your own machine or use one of ours.

CLASS SUPPLIES : Class fees include workshop registration and in-shop use of sewing machines and irons. All supplies, materials and personal tools are provided by Carnation Club. Upon enrolment, a Class Confirmation and Supply List will be emailed to you so that these items can be gathered prior to the class.
CANCELLATION POLICY : Class fees are non-refundable. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a store credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their class fee.
